- PRACCTIS: Prevention and Control of Cancer Post-Doctoral Training in Implementation Science
PRACCTIS is a full-time NCI-funded post-doctoral fellowship training program designed to provide the next generation of cancer prevention and control researchers with the knowledge and skill sets to eliminate gaps in the translation of research to practice along the cancer continuum, including prevention of disease, early detection, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. This 2-3 year program emphasizes didactic training in implementation science and mentored research opportunities and provides access to a wide array of training and enrichment opportunities on the UMass Medical School campus. We emphasize training independent investigators who will become leaders in cancer prevention and control implementation science research.
- VA Advanced Fellowship Program in Health Services Research and Development (HSR&D)
This fellowship provides two years of post-residency research, education, and clinical learning opportunities to eligible physicians. Fellows spend approximately 75 percent of their time in research and education and 25 percent in clinical care at competitively selected VA sites. Mentors of national stature provide guidance to fellows in rich learning environments. Graduates are expected to be role models in leading, developing, conducting, and evaluating innovative health services research in a variety of clinical settings. Many programs include specific expertise and program content in implementation science.

- D&I Modeling System
This interactive website was designed to help researchers and practitioners to select the D&I Model that best fits their research question or practice problem, adapt the model to the study or practice context, fully integrate the model into the research or practice process, and find existing measurement instruments for the model constructs. - RE-AIM Online Module Training
This web-based module provides instruction and case examples to illustrate the five dimensions of the RE-AIM framework: Reach, Effectiveness or efficacy, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance. The RE-AIM framework is useful for planning new interventions, adapting existing interventions, and designing evaluations that assess the potential public health impact of interventions.

The HIGH-IRI is a new training program focused on the intersection between Dissemination & Implementation Science and infectious diseases. HIGH-IRI offers mentored training in dissemination and implementation research methods focused on HIV, Infectious Diseases and Global Health. The program is composed of a two-year period of training and mentorship with two one-week in-residence sessions in St. Louis (at the beginning of the program and at the start of the second year) and remote mentorship throughout the year.
Implementation Research Institute (IRI)
The Implementation Research Institute (IRI) was established to advance the field of implementation science in mental health by enhancing the career development of early to mid-career investigators. The IRI is a unique interdisciplinary training program that will help you launch a research career in implementation science.
Training Institute for Dissemination and Implementation Research in Cancer (TIDIRC)
The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Division of Cancer Control and Population Sciences (DCCPS) hosts this training institute to provide participants with a thorough grounding in conducting D&I research with a specific focus on cancer, across the cancer control continuum. The institute is a combination of a 4-month online course (six modules with related assignments) and a 2-day in-person. Faculty and guest lecturers will consist of leading experts in theory, implementation, and evaluation approaches to D&I; creating partnerships and multilevel, transdisciplinary research teams; research design, methods, and analyses appropriate for D&I; and conducting research at different and multiple levels of intervention (e.g., clinical, community, policy).
Participants will be expected to return to their home institutions prepared to share what they have learned at the institute to help further the field of D&I research (e.g., giving talks, leading seminars, forming new collaborations, mentoring, submitting D&I grant proposals).

Archived Training Programs
Mentored Training for Dissemination and Implementation in Cancer (MT-DIRC)
This NCI/NIH R25 education program (PI: R. Brownson, 2013-2019) was uniquely positioned to build capacity in D&I research in cancer prevention and control. The program applied state-of-the-art training methods to build capacity in post-doctoral researchers. The work of the faculty and fellows in this program are significant because it addressed cancer risk factors and populations with high burden, where intervention knowledge on evidence-based programs and policies (EBPPs) is substantial, yet not commonly applied, and where a large reduction in cancer mortality is feasible if this knowledge were more widely taken up into practice and policy.
National Institutes of Health (NIH) Training Institute on Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (TIDIRH)
From 2011 to 2019, NIH and VA sponsored this 5-day training institute to provide participants with a thorough grounding in conducting dissemination and implementation research in health. Faculty and guest lecturers consisted of leading experts (practitioners and teachers) in theory, implementation and evaluation approaches to D&I, creating partnerships and multi-level, trans-disciplinary research teams, research design, methods and analyses appropriate for D&I investigations and conducting research at different and multiple levels of intervention (e.g., clinical, community, policy).
